Event Awards from a World Renown Glass Fusion Artist, Jan Mitchell

Last year we went wiith a local vendor to create the medals for our event placements.  The medals that were created were unique and we think that vendor did a great job.

This year we've changed course.  We contacted Jan Mitchell owner of Mitchell-Larson Studios, located on the island of St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.  We told Jan what our needs were and she agreed to assist us in creating a one of a kind award that no one else could ever duplicate. 

See, Jan's studio is in the business of making glass fusion products.  Her and her husband Steffen Larsen began this business many years ago.  They have a way to cut glass with a high PSI intensity water jet, and they've perfected the art of fusing colors to make both unique and beautiful products!

Fortunately for us Jan is a personal friend, we've been buying products from her studio for years.  So this year we thought why not do something a little different.  Her glass fusion expertise is known world wide, her thriving business proves it, and each year Jan provides specially designed glass ornaments for the White House christmas tree.

To Jan, Steffen, Mary and Christine, thanks for your help and guidance through this process, and to the recipients of this years awards in the SkiboardPlanet.com 2010 US Skiboard Open, you'll be receiving an award that can't be duplicated anywhere!
